Origin — China

Coat — Short, smooth, soft, glossy single coat; sheds more than expected for its length.

Recognised colours — Fawn (with black mask) or black; apricot and silver-fawn also seen. Clear trace and mask defined in standard.

Even-tempered, charming, mischievous and affectionate. A loving, comical 'clown' that lives for human company.

Trainability — Moderate — willing but food-driven and a little stubborn; positive, treat-based training works.

Grooming — Low–moderate. Brush weekly; clean facial wrinkles and ears regularly to prevent infection.

Good with — Wonderful with children, seniors and other pets. A classic, easy-going family companion.

Brachycephalic — highly heat-intolerant. Indian summers are genuinely dangerous; keep strictly cool and indoors, exercise only in early morning.
