Origin — Tibet / China (imperial lap dog)

Coat — Long, dense, flowing double coat with a soft texture; floor-length when shown, often clipped for practicality.

Affectionate, outgoing, gentle and trusting. Bred purely for companionship — a friendly, happy lap dog.

Trainability — Moderate — eager but a little stubborn; gentle, consistent training and patient house-training.

Grooming — High. Daily brushing for a full coat; most Indian owners use a short 'puppy clip' for comfort and ease.

Good with — Excellent with children, seniors, strangers and other pets. A superb apartment and first-time-owner breed.
